Kids clothing size chart covering baby, toddler, little kid and youth sizes with height, weight, chest, waist and fit notes.

Baby clothing size chart by age, weight and length

Use weight and length as the primary fit checks for baby clothing, sleepers and bodysuits.

Baby brands vary. Month labels usually mean up to that age, so a 6M item may fit many babies before 6 months if they are tall or long-torsoed.

Toddler size chart: 2T to 5T

Toddler sizes often keep extra room for diapers and toddler proportions.

A size 4 can be slimmer than 4T. If potty training or diaper room matters, compare the brand chart before switching from T sizes.

Youth size chart: YXS to YXL

Youth alpha labels bridge little kid sizes and adult XS/S sizing.

Teens may need adult sizes for height or length before chest and waist measurements fully match adult charts.

How to measure before choosing a size

Measure height with the child standing straight against a wall and shoes off.
Use weight as a secondary check because children with the same age can have very different builds.
For tops and jackets, check chest and sleeve; for bottoms, check waist, hips and inseam.
If a child is between sizes, size up for growth room unless the garment is safety-sensitive or must fit closely.

FAQ

How do kids clothing sizes work?

Baby sizes often use months, toddler sizes use T labels, and older kids use numbers or youth alpha labels.

What measurement matters most for kids clothes?

Height is often the best first check, then chest for tops and waist/inseam for bottoms.

Why does my child wear different sizes by brand?

Kids brands use different fit models, ease and proportions, so measurements beat age labels.
